Orientation of FD Students a visit to Delhi Haat and Crafts Museum (17th August 2010)

Students of fashion design went to visit the Delhi Haat, the Indian craft bazaar under orientation programme. They saw the various stall and their display. They visited all the state stalls. Through this they come to know about the different art, crafts, handicrafts and traditional of different Indian States. Students got the knowledge of their working techniques and making the products, different fabrics, embroidery. This visit makes them aware of the traditional heritage (art, crafts, handicrafts, textiles and costumes) of India.

 

Visit of FD Students to FMG Factory and City (19th August 2010)

All students were taken to Noida City and its surroundings visit. Students visited FMG Factory as a part of orientation programme. They were given knowledge about all the departments and units of FMG Garment Factory. Along with faculty members they were given knowledge about different departments :- Designing, Merchandising, Sampling, Fabric, Pattern Cutting, Sewing and Assembling, Dyeing and Washing, Finishing and Packaging. Students interacted with the professionals to get knowledge about the working procedures. Students saw the different collections that are exported to different countries by FMG. This visit made them aware of the Fashion Industry and its different aspects and working procedures.

 

Orientation Program (3rd September 2010)

On 3rd September 2010, an orientation program was organized to welcome the students of MBA, on the occasion the director Dr. Mridula Sharma welcomed the students. Faculties addressed students on the course structure of MBA and the examination pattern. Students were informed of the rules for discipline at college. Faculties who were involved in teaching various core papers poke to students about the course that they will be dealing with. Students introduced themselves and enjoyed the fruitful interaction with Chairman Mr. Rakesh Jain.

 

Art Exhibition (9th September 2010)

An exhibition was organized at FMG School of Studies on September 9, 2010. Art Faculty showed the art works done by him at different stages of his career, schooling, college work and professional assignment. He is gradute of college of Art, New Delhi. His works includes pencil drawing, nature study, rendering with charcoal. He showed some of his professional assignment and photograph.


Fresher’s party:

Fresher’s party was organized at college on the 29th September 2010 for students of all the classes. The theme was ‘Hawaii’ Hence students were dressed in Hawaiian dresses and had painted their face, hands and legs. The program started with a welcome by the Director and Faculties. This was followed by a ramp walk by students and their performances. Some of the students sang songs and danced to music. Mr. and Mrs. Fresher were declared based on student performances of students. The program ended with lunch and DJ.

 

Visit to International Trade Expo at Greater Noida (27th October 2010)

Students of MBA and FRM retail went to the international trade expo organized by the export promotion council where buyers and buyer’s representative had come to examine the product on display and place orders. The visitors were discussing the rates and place orders at the various stalls. The program enabled students to understand that export market of India for garments, fashion products and furniture and fixture.

 

Awareness program for E- Application for voter’s identity card (29th November 2010)

Election commission of India has sponsored an online registration / re-registration for voters identity card. The site provide applications for acquiring identity card, change of address, change of name and removal of names etc. DM Shri Deepak Agrawaal, ADM Shri Shivkant Dwivedi and SDM(sadar) Shri Vishal Singh of Gautam Buddha Nagar had taken lot of interest in the program and were the guests of the day. The program was intended to create awareness in students of school who will be the new voter. We have about 200 students of two schools attending the program. Aster public school and Rameesh International School were represented. Shri Sagir Khan Jaiswaal of Jan Suvidha Kendra brought the initiative a special push. The program started at 12 noon where Chairman of FMG and Director Mridula Sharma welcome the guests. Mr. Rakesh Jain encourages the efforts and thanked all the guest and the participants for their initiative, active participation and valuable time. Such society centric welfare activities bring about a major change in the psyche of the public. The contribution of the district administration to bring the young into the national stream to took a fillip by the DM’s special effort s to launch the awareness drive in a number of institution of Greater Noida.The Program concluded at 1.30 PM with a positive message


Industrial visit to Atlas Cycles (14th Dec 2010)

Students of MBA and MBA retail management went on an industrial visit on 14th Dec 2010 to Atlas Cycle at Noida. 16 students were taken to the factory and were shown the various departments.

Objective of the program:

The program was intended to make students:

- Aware of the nuances of industry
- Application of concepts learnt at college in text books to real life
- Understand the dynamics of corporate world
- Understand the growth path of the two wheeler industry.

Aware of various processes such as production, human resource management, supply chain, inventory control, operational control, marketing techniques used and distribution strategies of the company.

Students went to each and every department and were explained about the use of modern machinery in the unit. They asked relevant questions to the supervisors and workers and saw the machines work. Then they met the Vice President Marketing of the company and asked questions about the company’s activities. Overall the visit had a pleasant impact on the students.

 

Rohit Bal Fashion Show (09th February 2011)

Fashion show was organized by leading cosmetic brand Oriflame on Feb 9, 2011 at Okhla New Delhi. The collection was presented by top designer Rohit Bal. All students of Fashion Design and Retail Programmes attended the show. The objective of this was to make students aware of the fashion industry, its trend and fashion events. Students realized the importance of fashion collection and show, and had a chance to see the real environment of fashion show and collection. Students noticed the different ideas put in the collection and represented by Rohit Bal. This event encouraged and builds their confidence for career in fashion industry.

 

Visit to Suraj Kund Mela(11th February 2011)

Students of B.Sc Fashion Design and MBA Retail Management went to Suraj Kund Mela with the faculty to understand the traditional crafts of different states. This year Mela was in cooperation with the Andhara Pradesh tourism, so they had cultural programs of that state like their native dances, display of Ramayana and Kali Mata Nritya. Punjab state presented  the fighting techniques of Sikh in a dance form. They saw the various stall and their display. They visited all the states stalls. Through this they come to know about the different art, crafts, handcrafts and tradition of different Indian states. Students got the knowledge of their working techniques and making the products, different fabrics, embroidery. This visit makes them aware of the traditional heritage(art, crafts, handicrafts, textiles and costumes) of India.
